The total export cargo of 42,407 tonnes comprised 38,566 tonnes of containerised cargo; 3,841 tonnes of bulk cargo: 416 tonnes of cement and 3,425 tonnes of rice. As many as 4,624 containers comprising 1,400 containers import and 3,242 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Monday.
The brakeup of imported containers shows 782 of 20's and 309 of 40's loaded while nil of 20's and nil of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 911 of 20's and 652 of 40's loaded containers while 171 of 20's and 428 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There are nine ships namely Wan Hai-613, Jolly, Lantau Arrow, OOCL Dalian, Abdul Latif-S, Pacific Ace, Safina-2, Oriental Protea and MT Karachi with four container ships, three bulk cargo ships and two oil tankers respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period. One container vessel viz MOL Dignity is currently at the berth. There are three ships namely MOL Dignity, Shiba and Eship Liwa with two container ships and one oil tanker respectively sailed out to sea on Monday, while another ship namely Densa Jaguar with DAP carrier is expected to sail on Wednesday.
There are three vessels viz Maliakos, Hyundai Bangkok and Clear with two container ships and one coal carrier due to arrive on Monday, while four vessels viz Emirates, Zao Galaxy, Capri Cement and Aal Borg with one container ship, one chemical carrier, one cement carrier and one project cargo ship respectively are due to arrive on Tuesday.
The total import cargo of 46,092 tonnes includes 25,861 tonnes of furnace oil; 5,657 tonnes of edible oil and 14,574 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo of 7,812 tonnes includes 2,128 tonnes of rice; 812 tonnes of wheat and 4,872 tonnes of containerised cargo.
There are two ships namely MT Kalamas and MT Kasugta with furnace oil and edible oil sailed out to sea on Monday morning. A total number of five vessels viz CV MSC Namibia-II, MV Meta, MV Beautiful Rena, MT Kalamas and MT Kasugta are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, rice, wheat, furnace oil and edible oil respectively during the last 24 hours.
As many as four ships namely Maersk Montana, Dogambey, Mire and Siva Mumbai with containers, wheat, furnace oil and chemicals respectively are currently at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim. There are three vessels viz CV Maersk Montana, Mire and Siva Mumbai with containers, furnace oil and chemicals are expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, FOTCO Oil Terminal and Engro Vopak Terminal respectively on Monday.
